Description
Microsoft’s server operating system undergoes changes with each new version to enhance performance and address security issues. The latest version, Windows Server 2022, introduces AES-256 encryption for SMB and support for TLS 1.3. Since 2012, Microsoft has offered two main editions of the Server OS, distinguished mainly by virtualization rights. However, starting from Server 2016, the Datacenter Edition has received exclusive features such as Shielded VMs, Storage Replica, and software-defined storage with Storage Spaces Direct. In the 2022 version, the Standard Edition is limited to two virtual instances and offers a basic version of Storage Replica with restrictions on volume size.
